OK, here's what I don't get:
Since there are issues regarding having sufficient top heat using the Weber domed lid, which is predictable, then why doesn't the manufacturer offer a lid that is much lower to go on top of the ring?
If I were to buy something like this, I'd want something turnkey, and not something that I have to modify or adapt to get it to perform the way that I want.
This unit seems to have potential, but I'm not convinced yet.
