Hi my name is Janine from Philly, PA.  I grew up in a small working class neighborhood with 2 GREAT pizzerias.  Although I love them both as much, I am out to produce the square version since it is different and a little more unique than that offered by most pizzerias.  I want to open my own shop that will bring pizza happiness to those who have never really tasted REAL, GOOD pizza.  I hope to make a great pizza in the roman, pizza al taglia style and hope to find some great posts and suggestions in this forum to set me on my way!

Originally, Port Richmond -- a small working class river ward in the middle of Bridesburg and Fishtown.  Now, I live about an hour away -- 20 min outside of King of Prussia.

Cool.  I used to live in Castor Gardens in the northeast.  Then in Warminster for a while.  What's your favorite pizza places in Philly?  growing up close to Fishtown dou you like Tacconelli's?

Cool.  Tacconelli's is Port Richmond not Fishtown and yes, they are one of my 2 favorites.  The other was in Juniata -- the Original Santucci's on O Street(not any of the franchises).  Joe Santucci now has a place on Knights Road in Bensalem -- I haven't been there yet but heard it's good.  You?  What are your favorites?

I grew up liking Rising Sun , it's kind of like a pan pizza.  That's just what my dad always ordered or took me.  I got to try Tacconelli's a few years ago and it was very good.  But what I mostly ate in middle school and high school was the now famous Philly tomato pies from Altamonte's Italian market in Warminster.  They were like $1.50 a slice back then. Delicious and filling.
