Third Time's a Charm!

While tasty, I wasn't happy with my first two attempts. I doctored the recipe before even giving it a go and that was a mistake. I use maple syrup as the sugar requirement in my thin crust and thought I could do the same with the thin crust. I decided to go back to the original recipe to see if this is where things were going wrong. When I use maple syrup I get a dense biscuit crust. Too dense! This time though, follwing the recipe exactly it came out perfect. Flaky crust! I'll save the maple syrup for my thin crust and pancakes!

Looks tasty! Crust is a bit thick, you may want to try making that thinner next time (mainly in the corner). Why are you using maple syrup in place of sugar? sugar is cheap and widely available!
