OK. So my regular day job, for the better part of the last 25 years, is elementary education; I'm a teacher. Now give or take 8-9 years ago I taught 6th. grade at a nice tough enough school, in a considerably rough part of Chicago. I had a student who was a real trouble-making piece-of-work that I figured would be another standard burden on society in 3 years or less. ... Zoom up to this past Friday night. ... After enjoying the standard "Friday Night Classic Car Show" in my town, my wife and I went to Pizza Hut* to pick up a snack. Anyway, out of nowhere comes this young adult, who I don't recognize from anyone else, calling out my name claiming how she was my student and I was her favorite teacher. Go figure. I didn't believe it either. She is the manager of take-out. All jokes aside, I am very proud of her success. She is going to some kinda trade school to learn something else too (I forget now, since I was happy for her). OK. That's my Proud Brag. One of my kids from school has become a good contributing member of society.
