Heads up... GFS... I Just bought a 5lb bag of diced Grande mozzarella for $16.

They also had Grand'e shredded or whole milk and they had it in a loaf also. They of course had the lesser expensive Primo Gusto blends that have been my standard favorite for some time now.

I love that place and the price is the best! (I should work for them)

The west coast misses you.

Thanks for the heads re: GFS and Grande cheese.  That's about $2 less a bag than last year.

Since your pies have such an intense flavor profile and you don't bake at very high temperatures, I wonder if it is worth the extra $ for the Grande in your case.  Please report back.

Hey Bob!! Nice to hear from you.

I made 3 pies using the Grand'e straight mozzarella last night and the 'Fam' says they like the Primo Gusto blend better. They like the bigger flavor of the provolone/mozz blend. (Be aware, I did use some Romano in the tomato sauce.)

I may take the rest of the bag of Grand'e and make an experimental blend out of it. Might mix in some White cheddar and a 'touch' of aged provolone.
Any other ideas let me know.
