What I found strange were folks who felt the need to trash a pizza they hadn't even tasted nor expressed any interest in tasting in the future. Stranger still to criticise a website for taking the time to review it. Why say anything?

I do realise people here take great pride in the time and effort they put into perfecting their pizza in their homes and perhaps they feel disappointed that others who do not meet their personal level of expertise/method are having commercial success or coverage via popular pizza blogs. But at the end of the day - Jim and Andrea are out there doing it for real...and having a great time with lots of satisfied customers.  There's plenty of room for all sorts of pizza makers, artisan, backyard/garage, commercial  or whatever.

Very well put.

BTW, FWIW, these guys are nearly fully booked for the entire season.  Maybe they'll get to the point where they can have a fleet of these great old trucks and they can sit back and blog on the internet while their underlings make them lots of $$$$, until then, they are out there working on their garden, driving their trucks to various locations, catering parties and basically putting the rubber to the road.  They ARE DOING IT and I admire that a lot.   :D

Hey everyone!...What happened to the best pizza is what you yourself enjoy, not what someone else tells you is the best...

Hey everyone!...What happened to laying off of the competitiveness...

Serious Eats is a good site...Are they always right?...Probably not, but neither is this site...

Treat others as you would like to be treated...

I don't feel that I "trashed" their pizza. As I said, I'm sure it's pretty good.

I mean no disrespect to Jim and Andrea or their success. I was merely pointing out the fact that IMO it's odd that they seem to have went all out, 110% on everything except the one thing that most makes pizza original, the crust.

This is a forum and we discuss all things pizza. To say that I should just be quiet because not everything that I have say is praise is kind of dumb IMO. I'm sure that Jim and Anrea's skin is not so thin that they can't take a little criticism. I suspect that since they are a success, that they don't much care what I have say anyway, and that's OK. But that doesn't mean that I can't say it.

I admire Jim and Andrea for building what looks like a successful business, and I hope they continue to be successful.

Don - I respect your opinion. Apologies if you felt in any way I was pointing the finger at you specifically - that was not my intention.

This is one of those times where we agree to disagree. I think the "pizza" looks horrible as if it was dropped on the floor and thrown back in the box and I don't feel bad about saying that. If it floats other people's boat then more power to them but I couldn't serve it to a customer.

I can respect your opinion. What didn't you like about the way the pizza tasted?
