I do not need to know the name of the famous NYC pizzeria which served the pie in the photograph. Afterall, I've eaten sub-optimal pizza for most of my life so I can recognize junk when I see it. I have learned through years of eating disappointing slices that 99.9% of the pizzerias serve trash anyway. So it could have come from any number of the thousands of joints that dot the city scape. Through your tireless guidance (as well as others) I have learned, at a beginner's level, how to make a good pie at home.
However, since you asked for a guess, I would surmise Joe's since your caption has a "j" in it. I sort of hope it is not Joe's since we have a new member (bigjoesfan) who is crazy about the place. All I know is that its not Patsy's because they do not make a Neapolitan. They do however, make the finest example of NY American pizzeria pizza in my very biased opinion.
On another note, I had a very bready mediocre experience at best, in Lombardi's over the weekend and will not be patronizing them in the near future. Their pie tasted nearly identical to the frozen supermarket brand (Ellio's) I once ate as a kid.
On second thought, Ellio's was fresher and had more flavor.
