Fabricated a Pizza Oven using old computer for Weber Grill

Sounds good....I think the spec sheet on the link you posted of your grill says 38,000btu. As you indicated, that ain't push'in much air so you need to get more heat somewhere...could also prolly swap your burners out an go with Brian's venting tips.
You'll get a handle on it Pete, probably sooner than later.....you can't help it!

Just remembered another mod that Scott has recently been saying is ok to do. Glazed(I think they're cheaper$) black quarry tiles mounted on the ceiling...what do they call the type of adhesive for this?

Bob, One of the characteristics of quarry tile, as they are known, is they are unglazed, the color is from the type of clay used. My recollection was Scott was referring to regular floor type tile with a glaze. I myself would use a mechanical method of fastening,threaded screws/bolts and nuts to attach tile to steel.

Ok, my latest attempt I used a different technique with the burners. Remember, this Weber Genesis has an additional burner in the left side Sear Station area. So I used that burner to get some additional heat into the top area. Another dramatic thing i did was to not use the center burner directly under the hearth. The idea being to super heat the top area and not overheat the tiles.

I have 4 burners; 3 set to HIGH/H and 1 set to Off/x... H H x H

After about 30 minutes preheating;
I measure 575 deg F at the center of the tiles/hearth.
I measure 550 deg F on the inside top center of the metal oven I made.

See pics below for pizza results at about a 5 minute bake..

The perforated bottom you see is not any part of the pizza oven, it's just a round aluminum pizza pan that I placed the pizza on after it was baked. ---pete---

Thanks Craig, that means a lot coming from you. You make the best looking Neapolitan style pies I've ever seen and your photography is superb! I thoroughly enjoyed your Texas Pizza Summit thread.

Although my custom Weber pizza oven cannot achieve the high temperatures required for a Neapolitan pie, at least now I can achieve a 4 to 5 minute bake. That's a great improvement over my GE gas kitchen oven which typically takes about 9 to 10 minutes.

PS: All the pizza pics in this thread, I'm brushing the rim with an emulsion of Olive Oil, Butter, and Fresh Garlic that I first blend in a Magic bullet mini blender. I brush it on the outer 1" rim and then add all the toppings. As a result, the rim color and flavor is fantastic.

On the middle burner, which gave me plenty more flame-- enough to get my stone over 800 easily-- though
I like 700-750 range best. What works well in the 2stone is the steel plate the holds the stone...

I don't know the size exactly- but somewhere I read the pre-drill spec on a parts site..I believe that LP uses a standard size Venturi. Will try to track it down.
 also, I took my bits & used the smallest size that would not fit through the existing hole...the bit is so small that I can't see any etched size... Unscientific I know,
But I got the idea from someone who did the same hack on a jen air grill. I figured I could always just replace the part if I screwed it up. Very happy so far. Easy enough to tame the bigger flame with knob.

Here is what I drilled out.
Make sure your gas turned off at the tank!
When you remove the burner knob, you can see the brass gas control valve. You can remove it by unscrewing the panel under the burner control panel. You will have to remove the screw that holds the long burner tube in place, so that you can remove the brass valve.
I put the valve in a vise, and then carefully drilled the opening with a 1/16 drill bit. you can unscrew the drilled end to make sure you clean out the drilled pieces.... use some thread seal when you screw the drilled end back in.
