hey does anyone know if these stones are any good?  i have cracked quite a few stones at this point and am looking for one that can take higher heat (600 F and above) without some kind of strange chemical that makes me grow a third eye

You can't do better than a corderite kiln shelf, available from your local potter's supply company or online.  Indestructible, lasts forever, no weirdness... and much cheaper.

These are cordierite kiln shelves, just marked up a bit excessively.

And, Brian, in many scenarios, steel plate is better than kiln shelves, so, in a sense, you can do better than a kiln shelf.  It just depends on what you're doing
