Christina,

I sure don't know if they will make a sushi pizza, but find the seaweed part interesting.

More on seaweed pizza.

I wonder if the salt is just replaced with Hebridean seaweed and red pepper is added to the dough and what might be the other ingredients so the carbs and proteins are okay.

Totally a joke! That is really interesting, I think I am going to do some research and put together an article for pizzaoven.com. I will check out those links. I think that really health conscious people and certain people with dietary restrictions will really enjoy this.
What I am interested in knowing is the actual process of making the dough. I have not read anything on it yet but it sounds interesting. Keep posting as you find things.

Christina,

Good luck if you do some research on seaweed pizza and put together an article for your website.  Let us know if you find out more information.  I also think health conscious people would at least like to try out a pizza that is healthier and maybe other people too.  I sure have no idea how it would taste in comparison to another pizza.  I would like to at least try a slice of the seaweed pizza.

I donít think anyone knows right now what the actual process is for the making of the dough, except the people that are working on the process of making the seaweed pizza.  Maybe once the seaweed pizza is in the supermarkets, there will be Nutrition Facts.  Even with Nutrition Facts it is hard to know how to analyze them.  There are very few people that can do that.  Peter is the only person that comes to mind that can do that, but donít think he would be interested in going though that exercise.

Do a Goggle search for " seaweed granules".
Don

Thanks Don, that was a good suggestion!  :)

From this article about the seaweed pizza, to where they use seaweed in artisan bread, maybe this is somewhat what they might be doing, but changing the sugar and other ingredients.

http://www.yourjewishnews.com/Pages/21261.aspx

And one bread recipe with seaweed.

http://www.celtnet.org.uk/recipes/miscellaneous/fetch-recipe.php?rid=misc-seaweed-flour-bread

Another article with some on what seaweed does in bread.

http://www.seaweedireland.com/

There are other British recipes for seaweed in bread.

You are right it would be very beneficial to people who are health conscious. I could see it being a staple at stores like Whole Foods, Earth Fare, among others. I am also interested in tasting it. I have never had seaweed bread either. I can not wait to dig into this topic further.

Rubbish!Tommyrot and poppycock! >:( This sort of megahype nonsense really brings out the curmudgeon in me. Folks, if they were to have stated honestly that a couple of Scots had developed a low sodium pizza dough with added vitamins I wouldn't feel my intelligence was being so insulted. Any mention of low sodium cheese? um, nope. Low fat? um,no. Any mention of low sodium meat? um, nope. Whole wheat? um, nope again. So where is the World's First Healthy Pizza you might ask? Only in the minds of some marketing shysters looking to cash in with gullible consumers.
There, I feel much better now. ;D

"Healthy" is a relative concept.
I love pigs. They convert vegetables into bacon.
