I have a 'lil 3 cup Aroma cooker....just made some jasmine in it this morning. It's fast an easy and small enough to squeeze in the cupboard with the rest of the junk.  ;D  Prolly cost under 20 bucks...dunno.

The brand that you have chosen is a good one. You might find the model that steams as well. It's a great feature to have. Presently I have a Tiger rice cooker, Model JNP-S1OU. It's basically a white rice cooker only, but I do cook only brown rice in it. With brown rice, I rinse 3 times and soak the rice for 1-2 hours. Never have had a problem. After trying many brown rices my favorite is GEN-JI-MAI, quick cooking nutri-whole grain brown rice. The taste and texture is excellent. Good luck! Tom

You can make neo pizza but not rice ???
Basically, what Peter said. Boil then steam.
We Asians use the first bend of the index finger to measure water. Dump rice then put a finger on top and fill until water reaches the first crevice.
Although you're making brown rice so it would be more appropriate to use the middle finger  ;D

for brown rice I use the cooks illustrated oven method which just uses a 8x8 pan - you can double it and do in a 13x9.

here is a blog post that has the recipe
