I've been using raw sausage for the last several years, and have never had it come out uncooked, nor have I ever gotten sick from it.

using raw sausage is also common practice at pizza shops all over the midwest....  with the exception of the giant corporate chains, of course, where the pre-cooking probably has less to do with safety and more to do with consistency, and ease and speed of application.
And....  $MONEY$    'lil rabbit doo-doos are cheap!

I'm cooking a Hawaiian and a pep & cheese tomorrow - it's Friday night and it's time to get wasted, so no cooking tonight!

Actually, we're having salads.  Boring-ass salads. With no meat.  Gah, gah, and triple gah. Diets suck.

I'd rather eat one good meal a day than 3 squares of garbage.

Why, thank you, sir!!!   :)  :)  :)

The crust ain't the only thing rising around here.  For some reason, good pizza seems to have that effect on me.  My lovely wife Ann better have her running shoes on tonight or by tomorrow morning, she might be feeling a bit charred herself.   >:D

You've got to admit, Bob, whomever came up with the name Johnsonville for a dedicated sausage company is defintely a marketing genius.   :)

LOL Bob!!!  Well, in order to avoid any possible sausage controversy for at least the next week or so, tonight's smokey grill pizza extravaganza featured a pair of plain cheesers.   :)

Anyway, I went through all my sausage and pepperoni last time around and didn't feel like driving five minutes to the store to get any more.   ;D

I saw you guys mentioning trichinella spiralis and wanted to chime in. From the years 1997-2001 there were 8 cases of trichinalis reported from people eating meat produced in the United States. The chance of getting it is beyond low in the U.S. so I say put that meat on the pizza raw! But I totally see the basis of doing it for removing some fat for health reasons and to get a little more browning just as long as you don't cook that porky goodness all the way through! Haha.

P.S. - 53% of the reported cases from the CDC between those years was from wild game meat, namely bear and cougar.... LOL, I thought that was hilarious. Bear and cougar meat.
More is better..... and too much is just right.

Oh I believe it was sourced from hunting not from a meat producer which I guess explains the bug being in it since they weren't control fed or anything. Then again mother nature has a way with keeping most wild animals healthy. It seems that most problems in animal meat stems from us messing with them more and more. LOL.
