Restaurant Depot Customer Service......
« on: July 20, 2012, 11:13:39 AM »
I have read of poor customer service at RD, Sam's, etc on several forums over the years. We've all felt the pinch of that kind of thing from businesses. Just a couple hours ago I was there and dropped 150 or so on some cheese, sausage, a couple pizza screens and a case of spares. I got home and put 2 packs of the spares in the freezer and went to put the last one in the garage fridge and noted the seal was broke on it (other 2 were fine). I cut it open right away and there's no mistake of skanky pork smell. I called RD and was connected to the meat manager and he said come back in the morning and he would give me another case of ribs free. I said I would bring the other case back in whole being there was probably 2 packs (3 racks per pack) still good and he said no, not necessary, throw them away and he's just going to give me a replacement case and apologized for the hassle. Now that's pretty stand up in my book, actually feel guilty knowing 2 of the packs are still good but he said don't sweat it.
We ALL talk about getting screwed. Long time ago I leaned when you get treated right, you tell a lot of people, when you get screwed you tell EVERYBODY!!! They'll continue to get my dollar!

That's one of the problems with online reviews. When people think they have been treated poorly or received a bad product, they can't wait to post a scathing review that is often full of exaggerations. People that receive excellent service and/or a good product are usually less motivated to post a positive review. This skews the composite ratings such as the number of stars.

I have only dealt with RD once, but I have plenty of experience with Sam's Club, both online and in stores, and other that one time, I have received excellent service. The thing that ticks me off about Sam's is that as soon as you get used to buying something there, they stop selling it.
