Hey, from Texas (via NJ!!)
« on: July 28, 2012, 06:40:24 PM »
Hello everybody,  glad to have found this forum!

I grew up in New Jersey, about 45 min from NYC. Pizza has always been a great passion of mine-- my favorite food by far! I’ve been lucky enough to live in five states and travel quite a bit. I’ve had some good pizza, some GREAT, and some horrendous abominations that I refuse to call pizza  ;D

I’ve been dabbling in home pizza making with some success at mimicking my favorite, but want to take it to the "next level".

So i was very excited to read posts from others as passionate about "the pie" as I am and I’m impressed by the collective knowledge and experience of the folks here.

My dream is and has been to have a coal or wood fired oven, but circumstances make that difficult at the moment...

Anyway glad to be here and looking forward to learning!!

99ways, welcome to the forum.

I'm from NJ as well.  What were your favorite places when you were here?

Hmm, well my hometown favorite was Brother’s in Midland Park.  My parents moved around a little as well in NJ, and another one I remember standing out was Bevacqua’s reservoir tavern in Boonton.

But lots of good pizza memories, that region’s became my pizza by "pizza cognition theory".

I’ve been out of NJ for around 12 years now, miss many things but like I said I’m also happy to have made other states home.. another great new love for me having moved to Texas is their famous bbq brisket!!

99ways, if Midland Park is anything like Morristown, the pizza you remember from 12 years ago might no longer be there.

John, this is your back yard, is Brother's what it was 12 years ago?
