Cool set-up JB. You can close the door all the way with that thing in there? How long do you let it pre-heat? Have you checked the temp of the stones before baking?


It closes without touching at all. I think I might be able to cook two pies at once. I wrote a bit more here about temps and times and there are a few more pics.

I made it. Very simple. Each stone has a 3 inch stainless steel bolt in each corner. The two halves are held together with a coupling. It's very easy to seperate for cleaning. Stones are from Calif pizza stones, 14x26x5/8ths. If I were to do it again I'd buy from Axner, they're cheaper, and I'd go with a 14x18x5/8ths. Mine is a bit heavy and bulky. This setup has a 4 1/2 gap between the stones. I'd like to try 3 1/2 to see if it browns better without making it too hard to get a pizza in there.

Here's a few pics of a pizza I made on the grill the other day. It'd be nice if I could get a little top heat in there, but the pizza was still very good.

That pizza is the exact size of the stone... delicate work done well, my friend.

My 2Stone has 3.5" between the stones and it is easy to launch pies into.  No worries!

My second attempt for a BBQ grill pizza this month turned out better than my last attempt, except it wasn't perfectly round.  The pizza wasn't round because of a loading error.  This dough was a one day cold fermented Lehmann dough.

Thanks Craig, I never had a real filetti pizza.  Those aren't fresh jalapenos, but they are the young Greek Peperconcini peppers.  When they get older like me, they turn a shade of light brown, just like old women.

OMG, I haven't heard those "I think I'm in love" words for a long while.   :-D
