Just wanted to let you know that you mentioned you burn pallets in your oven. A lot of these pallets are treated with a pesticide to prevent bugs from traveling with the crates. That's the reason I don't use them. I do however use the lumber offcuts which make for a very neatly stacked pile.

Pallets used for international use may be fumigated, but heat treatment is more common. Fumigated pallets will be marked:

Avoid those and you will be fine (obviously, anything from Mexico or China should not be burned).

Here is one from Mexico that has been heated, it is supposedly safe, but it is from Mexico so I would not burn it.
