Actually, I didn't get it right away. My first thought was what Yogi Berra said:

You better cut the pizza in four pieces because I'm not hungry enough to eat six.

Then I remembered that Neapolitans don't cut their pizza into slices. They use fork and knife, so why are we talking about slices?  :D

Craig,

Do all the slices have to be identical in that they all contain toppings?

How about this one?

You walk into one of those vending places where you put in your money then open the door and take out your food. This one is a little different in that you canít see if there is anything in the boxes that are supposed to have pizza. You really want a slice and decide to go for it anyway.

There are three boxes marked pizza. You can only open one of them. You make your pick, and as you are just about to open it, the manager tells you that only one of them has pizza (the other two are empty). He wonít tell you which has the pizza, but he points out one of the two that is empty leaving the one you were going to open and one other to choose from.

Do you stay with your original pick or change your pick to the other box? What are the odds that you pick the box with the pizza?

You must breath deeply in pranu bindu awareness, collapsing the quantum wave into a probability node that intersects your action with the future that holds pizza in it.  Hopefully spiced pizza.

Alternatively, name your cat Schrodinger, and let him pick.

The odds are 50/50 at that point.  Further collapsing the node for better odds is not possible.  Flip a coin.

100 percent certainty... pick up both boxes. The one that weighs more contains the slice. If he won't let you pick up both boxes, pick up the one you originally chose. Judge by its weight (nobody makes pizza that's that airy  ;D)

Ok, so is it "open the door and take out your food", or "open the door and take out the box containing your food"? Or "open all three doors, take out all three boxes and select based on weight"?

I thought you could only open one door, and select one box... am I wrong?

You can't pick them up. It's this sort of place. Don't ask me why you can't see into the boxes.

Craig,

I'd say that the odds are 100%. If you open up one of the two remaining boxes and there is a pizza slice in it, you win. If the box you open is empty, then you pick the other remaining box. You win again.

You have three doors to choose from - you can't see into any of them. One has a piece of pizza and the other two are empty.

You picked one and just as you put your hand on it and was about to open it, the manager points his finger to one of the other two doors and tell you that there is nothing behind it (he never lies). You are left with two doors to choose from - the one you were originally going to open and one other. Either could have a piece of pizza or be empty.

What do you do? Stick with your original pick or switch? What are the odds that you will find the piece of pizza?

You only have enough money to pick one door to open. Either you are going to get a piece of pizza or not. You only have one shot at it.

Check the two doors. If one of them is a little steamed up, pick that one. I neither of them is, go to the slice shop next door.

Yes, one pick for the win. One has a piece of pizza, the other is empty. 1)Do you stay with your original pic or swich. 2) What are the odds of winning?
