Tonight was our annual "dress up the pets and take holiday photos for the Christmas email" session, and Rowdy was the star he always is. We debuted several new looks this year, including basic plaid, a classic cable knit sweater, the hoodie that made him look too "wrong side of the tracks" for my taste, and the ever-popular Rudolf costume. Unfortunately, we had issues with flaccid antlers and hubby has to step in with antler support. All in all, Rowdy earned his cookies and will sleep well tonight

My "old gentlemen puppy" that just returned from a haircut last week. He is fine now after medication for a infection in his intestinal tract and now is on medication for Hypothyroidism after further testing.

I came across this picture of my last lab, Scout a couple days ago. He was the most disciplined dog I've ever seen. Here he is, balanced on a cooler, with 4 hamburger patties, a brat, and a hot dog on his head and another piece of hot dog on his nose. All the while, my then 1 year old son is standing there waving his arms and talking to the dog. The dog would never budge until Itold him it was OK then he would flip the piece of hot dog up into the air and catch it on the way down (I took the other stuff off his head first).

Actually, Craig did that trick on himself several times, including flipping the hotdog up in the air and catching it, as he was instructing Scout.

He actually figure it out himself. At first, he would try to turn his head to the side to get to the piece on his nose, and it would fall off and he'd snap at it on the way down. He quickly realized that with a little head flip, it was a lot easier to catch.
