Produced just over the hill, and going down nicely!

Started drinking a little early today at the Pa. Renaissance Flavor Fest.  3.00 for all the wine, mead tasting and free samples of eats you can handle. There sure were a lot of wines to taste from Pa.

Bob,

It is usually nice at the Pa. Renn Faire, no matter what kind of event they have there.  They had a beer fest not too long ago, but I missed that.  I think there were 21 wineries from Pa. giving free samples.  You could have 5 samples at each winery.

Steve,

You aren't missing anything.  :-D  That blue wine was a blueberry wine and was really blue.  I think I can give you the name of winery that produces the blueberry wine if you want to know.  They had the flavor fest again today, but I was too busy to go again.  Many people from NY, NJ and other places come to the flavor fest.  The wineries take your cases of wines that you purchase to another spot outside the Pa. Renn Faire.  You might be surprised to see how many cases of wine some people purchased.  :o I saw some people taking photos of themselves with all the kinds of wines they purchased when we left the flavor fest.  They even had slushy wines and a lot of different wines that I had never tasted before.  There was entertainment too.  What more could anyone ask for when only paying 3.00 for the glass.   >:D

MacAffees Benchmark Bourbon. I was looking for an inexpensive bourbon to make pitchers of drinks for guests tomorrow and got this. On sale for $9.99, 80 proof and made by Buffalo Trace. Surprisingly smooth and tasty! I'll keep this on hand.

Norma,
I would love to try a blueberry wine, I grow blueberries in the garden and never thought of them as stock for wine. I guess because we eat them so fast that I can barely get enough to take us thru the winter let alone make wine.

Steve,

Different places at the Flavor Fest had blueberry wines, but the one that was blue colored was from Franklin Hill Vineyards and was called Bliss.  http://www.franklinhillvineyards.com/wineshop/index.php  My cousin makes blueberry wine, but it sure isn't blue.  Do you make wines?

Norma,

It has been a bunch of years since I have made any wine. when I was making I would try to make it from anything I could get my hands on. Strawberries, peaches, grapes, potatoes.... but that was a long time ago.

I love the Clio. But I also Luh-uh-uv his younger, cheaper cousin Juan Gil. Also a monastrell. Also made by Bodegas Juan Gil. But about 12 bucks. Buy a case. Really. :)
