Had a tasting last night. Started with two Champagnes. (See pics) Fresh oysters and clams on 1/2 shell and home cured gravlax. Then vertical of 4 Chablis (William Fevre Les Clos) served with shellfish roasted in WFO. 3 Alsatian Grand Crus from Marcel Deiss Altenberg Berghiem 2006, 2007 & 2008. Served with potato, leek and sage pies. 3 Kistler Pinots served with mushroom pie ( oyster shrooms, crimini and shitake). Leoville Las Cases 1989, 1990, 2002 & Quilceda Creek 1998, 2000, 2003 served with dry aged prime rib eyes, my home grown tomatoes with fresh mozzarella, etc. My wife is a great baker and we washed her German Chocolate cake, cookies and homemade gelato down with 1988 Rieussec and 1989 le haut -Lieu Vouvray. Outtstanding stuff but the Deiss wines stole the show.
