One of the other things I can't deal with....TONIC.....tooooo much like grapefruit. My ma will get an INSTANT migraine from the stuff. I drink brandy soda (usually E & J) if it's not on the rocks or neat and sometimes they hit the wrong button and give me tonic. BIG throat lock on that. Not many things I don't like, tonic would be one. Now soda with lime.....OH yeah

I just killed my bottle of Grand Mariner, so I'm moving to some Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon - the Knob Creek was in a differnet room

I didn't even know they made a single barrel batch. The ABC stores around Birmingham are pretty limited in their offerings. I may have to make a trip to Atlanta to source out any of the really good stuff, or maybe the ABC can order it. I doubt it though, they really don't care about customer care since they know people will come buy from them anyways. LOL.

Hands down the BEST thing I've ever sipped. My brother got a couple bottles of this many years ago for about 150-200 a crack and we sat and drank a bottle one nite in snifters, warmed in hand, and not touched with even an ice cube and a couple cigars to go with it. Drank the whole thing.........OOOOoohhhhhhh, so wonderful. It really was THAT good!! He still has the other one, uncracked and intact. I keep bugging him that we should drink it before one of us croak off

We sometimes go out there just to hang out and shop around for stuff. Next time we go we're gonna to try and find a good WFO restaurant to get some pizza. Someone told me about a place that was supposed to be the best in the city but I forget the name. I can look for the single barrel stuff during that trip for sure.

To shamelessly drink a bottle of one of the best brandy/cognac's in the world was awesome to say the least, and even back then, almost 30 years ago it was about 1000 a bottle. More now for sure!!!At least I had the sense and taste to appreciate it and not just do shots

OK, so I mustered the energy to walk to the other room and retrieve a bottle of Knob Single Barrel. It was worth the effort. It's big, thick, hot - very hot - caramel, roasted vanillin oak, toffee, apple - perhaps a little cinnamon and even some tobacco. Very nice. Glad I got up.

Holy s*** I need that in my life. I love a bourbon that has caramel and toffee characteristics. Almost candy like. I guess that's why I love a good rusty nail from time to time, but only on special occasions and only when I'm at a bar. If I kept Drambuie around my house I'd never get anything done.
