Park an Bitberger...I think they(Bit) are the ones that also make the fine pils I'm presently enjoying. I always drink "Park" when I'm over there visiting her family. I think it's the biggest seller there(cheap!)

Finally made it down to this part of the city and am at La Colombe. Nice non descript store right across the street from s bux. Excellent coffee, and wouldn't have known it was here. Thank you Peter!!

I'm glad you had a chance to try their coffee. I have four of their coffees at the moment and I work through them serially throughout the week. Their coffees aren't cheap, and my daughter-in-law complains that they never have sales or free shipping, but I tell her that sometimes you have to pay up to get the good stuff.

I didnt think it was too out of line for good coffee. Your daughter can take heart that Chicago tax is probably close to paying shipping.

Dave brought Steve and me a cocktail for the end of the day. Dave brought Steve a Dogfish India Pale Ale and brought me a Bacardi Silver Lemonade. I never tasted the Bacardi Silver Lemonade before, but thought it was really good.

Is that Park as in Parkbrau? That was the one I had when in Germany. Parkbrau Export (Red Label) or Parkbrau Pils (Green Label). I prefered the Export.

Right this minute, Starbuck's Hot Coco to warm up from snowblowing the drive and 'walk. But tonight it'll be Evan William's Single Barrel 2001 while watching Netflix's superb ''House of Cards''.
I'm almost out of it and can't find anymore locally, so it's back to Elijah Craig. <sigh>

Yes sir, it has a bit of a mystery to it....I just checked on a couple military personnel forums and a lot of the guys(and gals) talk about it being their favorite beer while stationed in Germany. I believe " Park" is the brewery and Parkbrau is among their lineup of great beers. Park supposedly sells the most beer in Germany but it is hard to find here.

I remember EW 2001 as very oaky and lots of caramel/toffee/maple and cinnamon. I bet you might like Elmer T Lee Single Barrel and probably it's sister whisky Buffalo Trace as well.

I like Buffalo Trace, great taste and easy on the wallet. I've never tried Elmer T Lee SB but it is rated highly, I see. I'll give it a try if it's available around here.
