I cant claim that one. I have pulled plenty of pretty shots with a bottomless, but haven't photographed any. That was just a pretty pic I saw online. I have been pulling double dog through a 18g vst basket and it does give some really nice tiger striping. I will order some black cat to try. I have been using the intelligentsia black cat mugs for a while, not sure why I have been lazy about trying the coffee.

I was just reading about the VST Baskets and their performance on Home Barista.

Seems like they perform well.

I dunno that I can really tell any difference. When I first got it I decided I did not like it. I wasnt pulling great shots from it and was having some channeling. I put it a drawer and forgot about it. 8 months later I took it back out and started pulling decent shots from it with no problems and have been using it since. I really can't say why I was having issues with it the first time around. Anyhow, long winded way of saying it is fine, but not revolutionary - at least for me.

Edit - oh yeah, I forgot to add that the reason I came back to the VST is that the shape gave me better clearance from the shower screen with an 18g dose than the OEM LM double basket did. I suspected I was hitting the screen sometimes.
