A History of New York in 50 Objects
« on: September 03, 2012, 05:42:21 PM »
Inspired by ďA History of the World in 100 Objects,Ē the British Museumís BBC radio series and book, we recruited historians and museum curators to identify 50 objects that could embody the narrative of New York.

Anybody notice what didn't make the list?

Craig,

They put the bagel on the list, which seems appropriate to me, but to put the Mast Brothers chocolate bars on the list and leave off pizza (or pizza slice) is felonious. I would have thought that the NY deli might also have been on the list.

Same thought here. What were they thinking? It's not only a key part of the narrative of New York, but a major influence of NY on the rest of the country.
