Il Miracolo di San Gennaro: The best ever San MArzano Tomato
« on: October 16, 2005, 07:10:25 PM »
According to many leading culinary expert all over Italy, these are the best tomatoes you can buy. Il Miracolo di San Gennaro's San Marzano tomato, is the pure strain (all others are hybrid often called San Marzano 2), however believe it or not, is not labelled San Marzano DOP because are not peeled.....

I believe it to be too expensive for pizzamaking, however for someone like PFTylor that has often point out his view that "life is too short not to try the best",  are worth considering.

Once again I'll give you a good tip... here is the link:

I'm eager to ear from your experience and comparisons...

Ciao

Followed the link: they look to be really good.

But to get them flown into New Zealand, (where I live) they will be hellishly expensive....

What do you think the chances are of germinating the seeds from ones of these cans?

No chance... They seeds are not viable once cooked and the canning process involve cooking...
