Depends on the cat breed and sex. I've had many boy cats (fixed!) that are a lot like dogs. They play fetch, want to hang around you, will sit next to you no matter what you're doing, are full of love and affection, etc. Girl cats can be very different - not so friendly, kind of aloof, the "typical cat" in most people's minds. But raise a big lug of a male shorthair tabby from a kitten and you have a lifelong friend.
I sort of agree with this, but there are exceptions. Vannah is
very friendly. She loves human attention and is not at all afraid to show affection to people. When we talk to each other, she likes to get in on the conversation and tries to "talk" herself. She is definitely very mischievous though!
Oreo (male/fixed) is most definitely a lap cat. More laid back than Vannah. His daily routine is usually running around chasing Vannah, eating, and sleeping. That's pretty much it. He loves to snuggle up to someone while they are watching TV or reading. He and Vannah are without a doubt best friends. They love playing with each other. Nobody ever told Oreo that he is fixed though--he still tries so hard with Vannah. Sometimes I kind of feel sorry for the guy.
