Hello!!

My name is Arjun Mangaldas. I am an architect based in Goa, India (originally from Ahmedabad, India). I built my own wood fired pizza oven last year and want to learn to make superb pizzas and build superb pizza ovens!!

I would also like to compile a proper vegetarian pizza recipe book in the Gujarati language, as pizzas are very popular in this predominantly vegetarian region of India. Also I want to design and build outdoor kitchens which include wood fired pizza ovens, for my clients.

Another topic of interest is pizza making equipment and the right kind of ingredients for making superb pizzas. These are not easily available in Ahmedabad and Goa, as far as I know...so I would like to import these items and make them available for pizza enthusiasts here!

Beautiful looking oven Arjun. I think some members of the Forum will find that the door opening is to tall for making some types of pizza. Post some pictures of your pizzas when you get a chance.

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for appreciating the oven photos. I had built it after studying some oven building drawings and information that I found on the Fornobravo.com website, and adapting it as per my instinct.

Please tell me more on the oven opening height and size issues and how they might affect the pizzas that I make in this oven. Which kind of pizzas?

I saw an oven somewhere online, where the opening was reduced in size and given a nice shape by using a panel (probably metal) that the door was attached to.

Note that my oven door & handle are made of an industrial mica laminate used for high temperature insulation - though I have to make a better arrangement for the handle and perhaps redesign the door so that it consists of a fixed panel and a smaller (lower height) door with a hinge arrangement?
