Simple Resize is a free app from the iTunes Store. Works fine but does not give KB image size. So I use iPhoto also from itunes , cost $4.99, to check size. To create individual folders to store your iPAD photos, also use iPhoto.
All this works and you can upload directly to the forum posts IF you have upgraded to iOS 6.
