Austrian Felix Baumgartner has become the first skydiver to go faster than the speed of sound, reaching a top speed of 833.9mph (1,342km/h).

The 43-year-old jumped out of a balloon 128,100ft (24 miles; 39km) above New Mexico, breaking the record for the highest ever freefall.

It took just under 10 minutes for him to descend. Only the last few thousand feet were negotiated by parachute.

It only took 4 minutes to descend. Here is some video from on of the cameras on the jumper. It says it's from his headcam, but it looks like the chest cam to me.

I am with you on that.  I have no idea how the human body can withstand 800 MPH, even if he is dressed in long Johns, or an
Astronaut (Sp) uniform.

 My 12 yo requested that I ride a terrific ride (to her), but a nightmare to me, this last summer.  I hate horrific rides, but she loved it, but we both survived...    Absolutely nothing like this nut did.

This guy must have a line of dates a mile long.  I wonder how mutch that flight/accent/ decent/camera time/  cost?

I think I will just stick with pizza.

It was very cool watching that today. Got a little nervous when he went into that spin though. Just awesome!!!
