I added rubber feet to a 18"x18" porcelain tile that been sitting in my garage for a long time to use as a work surface for stretching my dough balls etc. I used it yesterday, it worked very well.

You can use marble tile instead. It will be much cheaper and lighter than a marble block.

Looks like a winner, but it looks like you have granite counter top. Why not just use that? Except the tile is portable, I guess.

Mainly for portability, we had another beautiful day in Houston yesterday,I had all my pizza tools, ingredients, and the porcelain tile on a fold-able table outside.
