If Craig didn't know someone attached to this, I don't think I'd go, but since there's a confirmed 'pizza nerd' involved in running the place, I'm game.
This being said... I'm not all that optimistic. It makes perfect sense that Grimaldi's pizza was defiled by the money grubbing franchiser that bought him out, but, there's no guarantee that the pre-buy out pies were world class, and, even if they were, there's no guarantee that Patsy, at 81, can train people a fraction of his age to be able to do exactly what he did. Both Lombardi's and Totonno's are still the same families, without having ever been bought out, and look what's become of them.
It's a great story, and I'd be pleased as punch to see Grimaldi get his good name back and for him to put Ciolli in his place, but... I think that, between his age, an almost guaranteed lack of oversight, the hype and the legal battle, there's a lot working against this.
Craig, how well do you know Matt? Any chance you could get him to post here?
