I was about to whip about the KA [Kitchen Aid ] about 10 mins ago, when my wife informs me that
there's a DELISSIO brand pizza in the deep freezer.  Damn I thought, this is great   ;D, I don't have to
pull out the KA, make some dough and only be eating by 8:30 pm ( hardly time to get the dough risen ) ...

wow, ok, so I'm being honest, I at times will have frozen pizza....

what about you guys ?  :P

be honest now.

Oh and yeah, the homebrew is good !  ;D

 I must admit i only had frozen pizza one time this year and it was Homerun Inn, which is a famous Chicago brand. I have a mixer and scale and put the bowl right on the scale and add ingrediants. It's simple and I never even dirty any dishes. I really enjoy making pizza and take pride in doing so. As for myself, It seems to be more of a hobby at this point than a source of food. It is probably the same way you feel about home brewing. I must say the Russian Imperial Stout sounds interesting. Oh heh, How did the frozen pizza turn out anyway??                 Chiguy

I haven't bought a frozen pizza in a few years, mostly because I have slice places in walking distance of my apartment.  I do have fond memories of those totino's pizzas.  I think I have had a few other brands that have a similar style.

Can anyone recommend a crust recipe that comes close to that style?  I am sure we can do it better with fresh dough.  I never have mad a cracker crust recipe, because I am not a huge fan of that style.  I guess what I want is considered a thin and crispy pizza?  The dough stays more tender than a cracker crust, but is definitely different than an American/Neapolitan/NY style.

Yuck, those Totino's pizza's have terrible quality meat on them, although the cheese ones are decent. I like them because of the greasy buttery crusts. Palermo's Primo Thin have been my favorite as of late. They come out nice and crispy and the have some nice chunks of tomato om them. I only buy frozen cheese pies nowadays when I get them, don't like the meat on any of the frozen pizzas and I am not a fan on Pepperoni.

It's not delivery... it's DiGiorno.
I have my wife spoiled on my pizza too but when we get frozen pizza, it's usually DiGiorno with the crust that rises and bakes in the oven.

That's very interesting stuff.... up here in Canada we have a commercial that played for a few years, although I have not seen it this year at all.

They did many different ones but the main line was " it's not delivery, it's Delissio " , I believe this is made by the McCain company here in Canada.

I now wonder if this is the one and same pizza.... it's a quick rising crust, and they say it tastes just like a pizzeria pizza.  The pizzas do blow up very well, eventhough you bake them from FROZEN.

Anyway this is indeed interesting, as the tag line seems to be the same... so it *must* be the same company, or else somebody would be in trouble for using another company's tag line.

I did some looking on the internet and it turns out Delissio and DiGiorno are both Kraft foods products.
Just different product lines in different countries.  That's how they can use the same slogans.

Btw, yup the packaging, is exactly the same inside... u peel off that thick plastic, hehe, it's ex-a-tackly
