Did you know that you can post pictures from IPhone?
« on: October 24, 2012, 10:45:50 AM »
I was not able to post pictures before, but after upgrading to the latest OS , I posted couple new topics using my IPhone with pictures. I used http://www.picresize.com/ to resize my iPhone picture, saved the resized pictures to my iPhone than attached it to my post.

Don't you love technology (when it works)

Here's one my post from my iPhone http://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php/topic,21675.0.html

If the pictures are going to post sideways, I hope people will be considerate enough not to do it. It is highly annoying.

Hmm... On my iPhone browser , the picture is not sideway. On my pc it is sideway. I this can be fixed, by rotating your picture on your iPhone before using picresize.

I've noticed before that there seems to be some issues with Apple brousers and this forum. From time to time, there are pictures that look fine on my PC but look sideways on my iPad. Maybe they were taken with an iPhone?

Image geek here- there are two reasons/problems why the images are showing up sideways:

There's a little orientation flag that the iPhone (and other apps set) which say "hey, this image should be turned sideways when rendering it", and it's causing problems in two spots:

a) The form is setting the wrong width / height for the image tag, not taking into account this flag.
b) But even worse, webkit (the engine that powers Safari on OS X and iOS) isn't taking into account that flag either when rendered inline for a page.  You can however open up the image in a new window, and it loads fine.

As you've discovered, the workaround is to edit the image in something that'll reset that orientation flag so it's not needed.

Hi, I've tried posting pics from my iPad and haven't figured it out yet.  I have the latest iOS software update and when I try to post a pic the "attach"button is greyed out.  Anyone know of a solution?  Thanks for e help.

Best,
David

When you click on "Choose File" button  , two button should pop up, "Take Photo" and "Choose Existing"

Just make sure you have the latest iOS I think it is 6.
