I am right between DC and Baltimore and the rain has been really bad since this AM. Right now the wind is really picking-up. They say the best is for tonight!

Not too bad yet. It's rainy and windy and the creeks up, but if I didn't know it was gonna get worse, I wouldn't be worried.

That's why I say start prepping to pull out. Don't wait until the last moment. Get your essentials in a waterproof bag (identity docs, house title, car title, financial papers, any other stuff it would be a bear to replace) and pack a overnight bag with clothes you don't mind wearing for a while. Prepare the cat carrier & make sure you know where the leashes are.

There's nothing worse than fumbling in the dark, feeling the panic. Preparation will ease your mind and allow you to function even in the worst of situations.

Not saying evacuate right this moment, but it's going to be dark, cold, and blowing more than 70 mph where you are Steve, by 8:00 AM tomorrow. Gonna be a long night.

It isn't really bad in my area yet. Only raining normally and only some wind gusts. I just took a walk and this is what it looked like.

We have wind gusts over 60mph here in NE Ohio. Thankfully we still have power. Hope everyone is okay.

Things are much better here now. The creek is back where it belongs and it's no longer really raining. More like a driving mist. It's still very windy but I think we'll be fine, even if we do lose power. The lights have been flickering a bit this evening.

I think we will be okay too. It is really windy here and rattling the windows and storm doors, but no power failure yet. The light did go off a few times, but nothing bad.

Got lucky, wife was in Florida visiting the inlaws with our 14 week old daughter starting this past Saturday. I was in a different part of florida for work this past friday - sunday... and after realizing how brutal the storm was going to be, cancelled my flight, rented a car and drove the 2 hours to the inlaws. I fly home on Thursday morning(hopefully.) Who can complain about a free vacation?

Our power just came back on. It was out for about 2 hours. Very windy. Gusts of about 65mph.

Storm is gone, just some rain and residual wind at this time. Fortunately never lost power nor real damage here, just a couple of trees down in the neighborhood.
However schools are closed, government is still shut down and some business are waiting tomorrow to reopen.

Thinking of everyone west of here who are getting 2'of snow.

parents lost some tree on long island. everything seems fine where we are in westchester. i have a flight booked home for thursday but i am pretty sure i have the rest of the week off. win win win for me.

Power went out around 3:00 yesterday. Tried to boost the heat in the house before the storm really hit only to discover that the furnace had crapped out. New switch ordered and just thankful it isn't too cold outside (62 degrees). Lots of downed branches and trees leaning against power lines in the area including one in front of our house. Based on past outages in our area, it may be a while. They have now cancelled school for a third day. Squirrelly son syndrome starting. Only so many hours of playing board games in us all.

We were very lucky to only have lost power for a couple of hours. There are hundreds of thousands of people all around us that are still without power.

There were 20-foot waves on Lake Erie.

Power went out yesterday @5:45. Came back today at 2:00. Long dark night with bored kid.
Kept sump dry with "faucet pump" : my neighbors flooded because their generators wouldn't stay on in the rain.
Had a tree go down, a 200' oak. It was 210' from the house.
Pics are AFTER I cut enough off to be able to get the car out of the garage.
Hope it's over, can't wait for hot shower, been outside all day.
