Maggie Bell's Suicide Sal Album on vinyl, spinning on the turntable. Jimmy Page plays guitar on the album and is GREAT also. AWESOME album, forgot I had it!!

+1 Jon!

Did you know that Maggie is still singing? She performed with Jon Lord (from Deep Purple) for the John Lord Blues Project just last year. A good album BTW.

She is hands down one of the greatest female rock/blues vocalists ever!! In the top 10 in my book!

This guy is always awesome....

"Coming Back To Life"

Where were you when I was burned and broken
While the days slipped by from my window watching
Where were you when I was hurt and I was helpless
Because the things you say and the things you do surround me
While you were hanging yourself on someone else's words
Dying to believe in what you heard
I was staring straight into the shining sun

Lost in thought and lost in time
While the seeds of life and the seeds of change were planted
Outside the rain fell dark and slow
While I pondered on this dangerous but irresistible pastime
I took a heavenly ride through our silence
I knew the moment had arrived
For killing the past and coming back to life

I took a heavenly ride through our silence
I knew the waiting had begun
And headed straight..into the shining sun

Shut Up And Play your Guitar by Frank Zappa. One of the most under rated guitarist out there. Seen him in concert twice, once in Germany and once in the states. Both in a medium venue and great seats. Some of the greatest stuff I've been privileged to watch in person. Simply tops!!!

Wow Jon, now you're talkin'! I saw Frank twice as well. Simply amazing! Everyone always gets hung up on the weirdness and overlooks the fact that he was a musical genius that spanned several genres, and an amazing guitarist.

"Guitar", "Shut Up and Play Your Guitar, "Shut Up and Play Your Guitar Some More", and "Return of the Son of Shut Up and Play Your Guitar" are all fantastic.  8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

One of the times that I saw Zappa was at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Columbus, Ohio. IMO, the acoustics in Vets Memorial is terrible. I saw several concerts there and the sound was poor at all of them except for Zappa's. In addition to being a great musician, he knew sound and the engineering involved. I have heard that he was very involved in the sound setup at his concerts and would show up early to make sure that everything was perfect. If he could make Vets Memorial sound great, he had to be good.
