Norma, that looks like good cheesecake....did you make it? My girlfriend and I were just talking about the different cheesecake styles we have eaten over the past few days.

Bob,

It was a decent cheesecake pie.  I forgot to get condensed milk until I was ready to make the pie last evening, so I substituted sour cream for part of the condensed milk, added a little cornstarch and a little sugar and hoped for the best to happen.  I did use 1 packages of cream cheese, two eggs and vanilla.  The eggs were added one at at time in my kitchen aid mixer after the cream cheese was mixed until fluffy.  The cheesecake pie was baked until it looked set.  I did have a back up cake already made if the cheesecake failed.  :-D

I made vanilla bean NY style cheesecake for my hubby's birthday today.  Sorry no pictures of it though.  It was deelish!

Mary Ann,

Your vanilla bean NY style cheesecake sounds very good.  8)

Man, that looks good.  I've been thinking about tea sandwiches a lot lately and that salmon would be perfect.

not yet, waiting for it to come. Just as Johnny decribed the other day, spatula, on and off heat, constant stirring and out of the pan right when done. Let them set in the pan for a second to get something and ooops, too done!

Australian lamb loin chops - marinated for about 2 hours with fresh rosemary, thyme coarse salt, minced garlic (ground in a mortar and pestle), then seared on hot cast iron.  Served with thick skin baked potato seasoned only with butter, salt, and pepper.  Made a sauce by melting butter in a hot pan, adding the marinade, and thickening with heavy cream.  Very simple, but my sweetie loved it.

Just finishing up a large bowl of fish chowder. I enjoy groundfishing up on the Gulf of Maine and have boxes of cod, haddock and pollack in the freezer. I'll be passing it around to family, friends and folks at the senior center at the end of winter so I can go catch more.

Post workout protein fix: creamed eggs (about 45 seconds before scrambled) with a minced cherry tomato (great idea Jackitup!), Maldon's smoked sea salt flakes, freshly ground black pepper and chives, served over a solitary deli slice of ham. Mopped it up with a bakery roll. Simple but deelish.
