A friend brought a couple of different homemade soppressata. I had homemade wine and just stretched mozz. Good times.

Sashimi is a favorite of mine.  Because my wife is out of town on a family visit, I decided to dig through the freezer and found a couple of Foodsaver-ed pieces - thawed in the refrigerator overnight, and then sliced just now.  Made a dipping sauce out of the ingredients pictured.  Now off to enjoy it

Anytime is lunch Bob so you could have some.  I made a big pot.  I had to decide about market by 12:00 PM yesterday.  I contacted other vendors near me and they were not going either since they are calling for 6"-10" of snow, windy with drifting and temps that feel like below 0.  I have to be at market on Monday around 12:00 to get everything ready for the next day.

I'd bury my head in that like a dog!!!!

Jon,

You could bury your head like a dog in the soup.   :-D  I would like to see that.

I always liked those alphabet pastas in vegetable soup since I was a child.  My mother started that.  Soup always tastes better to me reheated the next day.

Squab with a fire roasted beet salad with feta, pistachios and cherry pepper sherry vinaigrette.  Pretty damn good for 15 minutes of prep time.  Sorry, no pics.

Did you shoot the pigeons or buy domestic raised/butchered ones. As a young teen of 12-13 years old that's one of the first birds I hunted was pigeons and dove. LOOOOOOVE  them little guys!!!! Back when people would not give a kid a second look riding his bike through town with his cased shotgun or 22 rifle to get out of the "city limits" to shoot some squirrel, rabbits and pigeons and such. Brings back a LOT of fond memories!! Farmers would love when I'd come out to shoot their pigeons, just don't shoot the silo roof! I could use my pellet gun from inside the silos if I promised to be careful :-D

Ha! We would fire the shotguns off at the metal roofs of out buildings to listen to the shot scatter and slide up the roof. Over 40 yrs. ago I had a Benjamin pump single shot pellet rifle and pistol; both had scopes on them. Those were awesome. Thanks for the memory Jon!  8)

They were store-bought.  I need to get out before upland season is over.  When I was 11 or 12, I could ride my dirtbike down the road with my .22 strapped to the handlebars and have a State Trooper wave to me as he drove past in the other direction.

A friend of my shot me in the ass with a Benjamin.  I had to dig the pellet out with a pair of tweezers.  Thanks for the memory Bob! 8)
