Ha!  :)   Looong time ago I was second shift foreman at a plant in Chicago burb that manufactured those grills and fire rings. We sold to local municipals, State, and Fed parks and military bases. You should see some of the fine grills govt. provides to `officers` clubs. I cooked on one in Germany once that we built.  :-D
Looks like yours served you well...good lookin grub moose!  ;D

Runny fried egg, buttermilk pancake, maple syrup and a piece of sausage stacked on a fork is one my all-time favorite bites.

Hatch chilies showed up today so I made green chile stew.  Butterflied porkchops cut into strips, gutted green chilies and onion with some chicken broth, salt, and pepper, and just a taste of comino.

Simmered them down for about 4 hours and it was good.  The whole pot was gone in 20 minutes, they had very little heat in the peppers so the family chowed down.  I made that for me, figuring it would be hot, dang it!

May do midnight supper: beef stroganoff.

In the woods with the boys. Doesn't get any better than that.

moose13 - the food looks just like great camp food does - awesome!  The pic of your kids by the fire says it all!  Very cool!

Thanks guys!
Usually spend 4-5 weekends a summer up there.
First one this year, i don't know where the summer went so fast.
Gotta get in at least another before the white stuff flies.

This was a long shot for me... I never do pork chops well.  And, have NEVER done them well on a grill.  They were Costco "porterhouse chops" - they were the same cut from the animal - the were not labeled that way.

Marinade:
4 tsp Garlic Puree
3 tsp Dijon mustard
4 tsp crushed ginger
1/2 cup Cabernet Sauvingion
1/2 cup lemon juice (seems like a lot)
1/2 cup lite soy sauce
crushed Malabar pepper
2 hour marinade time in fridge
Grilled on my hobo grill -  to 145* and removed  - served at 165*

I never make good pork chops but these were very good. I'd make them again.

I feel the marinade is getting in your way and would like to suggest getting back to the basics with that fine cut of chops...salt and pepper and high heat my friend.
Dipping sauce on side if requested.  8)

Had a gathering at my sister's house last night to thank everyone that helped her move into her current house, and to bless the house (Methodist tradition).  Had a small crowd of 20 or so. We made Frogmore Stew, and had three flavors of homemade ice cream (Lemon, Fresh Peach, and Milky Way Chocolate). A great meal, and a special evening with friends and family.

We had an awesome moon here too.

That does sound really good right now. You ever try it with some Malibu coconut rum on the side?  ;D
