Claypot rice with duck liver sausage, summer cep, birch bolete and candy cap mushrooms
(chili and shallot oil, reduced sweet soy as condiments)

Wow, that looks delicious. I'm getting really hungry now!

porcini, bay boletes, deceivers (and amethyst deceivers) and parasol mushrooms sauteed in copious amounts of butter
scrambled burford brown eggs (deep orange yolks!)
toasted sourdough

I'm guessing you are an experienced mushroom harvester, am I right?  Otherwise I have no idea where you find all these mushrooms.  I would love to learn what is edible and what's not but I'm not sure where to go learn.  Do they give classes in mushroom hunting?  This seems to be the season. I see all kinds around my house.

I'm no expert. Just always been fascinated with fungi. My only real advice (albeit obvious) is never eat any mushroom you aren't 100% sure about! It ain't worth the risk. As the saying goes: "There are old mushroom hunters and there are bold mushroom hunters. There are no old, bold mushroom hunters." :D

Get to know the deadly ones better than the edible ones. That said, there are a few good-to-eat mushrooms which are readily identifiable with minimal risk of misidentification. If there are classes/guided forays in your area then definitely grab the chance.

Food looks great Jackitup and steelplayer  ;)

Did a packer brisket this weekend - in a 250F Traeger with meat taken to IT=195F, and enjoyed the butter tender brisket on sandwiches with home made sauce.  Separated the tip from the flat and made burnt ends - lightly sauced with a great bite - no tug.  Took some to work today and heated a small plate of them in my office  >:D

John,

I don't know how many stuffed grape leaves you can eat at one seating, but I can eat many at one seating or throughout the day.  You might win though if there was a contest.  I can eat them cold or hot.

At this moment, some home (cold) smoked Gouda as a snack before dinner, then sandwiches with leftover brisket and bakers rubbed with oil and rosemary salt

Started with the last of our brisket smothered in homemade 5 chile sauce (ancho, chipotle, puya, guajillo, arbol) and baked potatoes cooked long and slow so the skins are thick, slightly chewy, but still crisp - nothing but salt, pepper, and butter.  Finished with our simplified interpretation of vaca frita (literally fried cow) which consisted of the brisket scraps thrown into the black skillet and crisped on both sides - still moist and tender on the inside.
