Italian Beef. Dipped and hot from the Original Mr Beef which is about 10 min from where we are moving to next week. :o

Looks delicious.  That place could be a serious hazard to your waistline!

Simple dinner; nothing special, but tasty - home ground meats, smoked cheese, and toppings.  We like good quality beef in our burgers and some kind of pork, and occasionally turkey.  We justify using steak for ground beef because we can always get some kind of steak cheaper than we can get 85% beef in the grocery stores.  Sure, we need to take the extra step to grind the meat, but it is safer, fresher, and way more tasty than grocery store ground.  Additionally, we can add whatever fresh herbs and seasonings while the meat is being processed.  This time we used choice New York strip that we purchased for $2.49/lb, a small chub of Jimmy Dean sage breakfast sausage, and turkey.

It is rapidly becoming cold in northern Idaho, and the day was filled with winterizing chores.  Pulled a couple of New York strip steaks from the freezer to make cold weather comfort food - a hot bowl of chili is just the ticket - used dried chiles, fresh pasilla, Serrano, and jalapeno, New York strip steak for the meat topped with home smoked Cheddar done in a Bradley

Pz - is that the KA meat grinder your using? I've read a lot of complaints about it leaving metal shavings in the meat, have you had any issues?

Yes, KA attachment. I'd not heard about metal shavings, so after reading your comment, I inspected the blade and grinding disc and found no evidence of wear. Everything else is plastic.  So far it has served me well with an excellent grind, and I don't bother to partially freeze.

We made chili last night and had leftovers - today we used that for our version of street tacos.  Nothing unique or unusual, but tasty, savory, and made good use of what little chili we had left.

Image 1: The players: avocado, tomato, cilantro, onion, and not shown, fresh lime juice and a diced jalapeno went into the salsa.  The cabbage was for the taco
Image 2: My plate - I was kinda hungry
Image 3: First leftover chili was smeared onto corn tortillas, then topped with cabbabe, fresh salsa, queso fresco.  After the photo I also added sliced radish, and Tabasco chipotle sauce

Dinner the other night was so good, I had to post it for others to try:

I've done this with both shrimp and fish, simply delicious.
