Leftover sausage stuffing, egg over easy and a Kraft single on a leftover dinner roll.  Very close to my idea of perfection.

Not exactly right now, and not exactly just eating, but enjoying the cold foggy morning in the hot tub yesterday.

PZ,

I can't decide which looks better, the food or the incredible view!  You're killing me with that view.  It's just awesome!

Thanks Mary Ann,  I've been in this spot for nearly 3 decades, and in all that time almost nothing has changed in the landscape.  On my drive to work (20 minutes) there is one stop sign, and not a single traffic light.  It's almost as relaxing drive to and fro work as it is to sit in the hot tub (okay, maybe not  ;D)  We really enjoy New Year's eve - standing by the bonfire it almost feels like we're the only people on the planet. - Peter

Thanks Jon,  I've just been very lucky in life by making reasonable decisions when I was young.  For instance, I could so barely afford my place when I first purchased it, I had to use bedsheets to wall off parts of the home because I could not afford to heat it.  We were using a wood stove because electric was too expensive.  However, we knew that the sacrifices we were making while young would pay dividends when we became old.

Very well said, I could go on a very long diatribe about the need for instant gratification in today's society and the reluctance to save and wait/earn the things one needs but I'll resist. Yours and my parents came from an era where not much came easy from the post depression and WWII. My 3 daughters are all hard working and responsible but I worry a lot for them the way things are going today. I only hope they continue to make those 'reasonable decisions' like we did and maybe a bit of luck too. God knows they'll need it!

Your comments are spot on, Jon - I too worry about my kids, and honestly I feel like our generation had it much easier than either our parents, or our kids, but for different reasons.  My parents chastised me if I ever left a light on in a room when not occupied - the closeness of war changed them forever.  Today, material goods such as prime real estate are so much more expensive, and my fear for my kids is that because most youngsters today do not appreciate delayed gratification, the prognosis for a future similar to ours is actually quite bleak.  Unfortunately, it will be too late when they become old and the regrets begin.

 ^^^

Sometimes I worry about how the future will be for my kids.  With any kind of luck, they will grow up with the same morals and standards that my husband and I try to raise them with so that they make wise decisions when they become adults.  It seems like nowadays, everything is instant gratification and no one appreciates working hard for anything.  Everything is expected with little or no work and morals are out the window.

Anyway, both your food and your view is incredible, Peter.  Enjoy!

I just finished last night's pizza.  I made two 20" pies.   My wife and son each had 4 slices.  I ate the other 8.  I'm bad.

Andy,

In my opinion Chili's Margarita Grilled Chicken  classic Margarita-flavored grilled chicken with hints of lime and citrus, served with rice, black beans, tortilla strips and house-made pico de gallo was really good, but I don't know how healthy it was.
