But it ain't random.

Actually it is random, the probability distribution is just not 50|50. No spin is predictable and there is no deterministic pattern.

Would you be surprised to know that flipping a coin is not 50|50 either - even if it is perfectly balanced?

Does it matter whether the spinner is right or left handed? The direction of spin as it relates to the rotation of the planet?

If you use a small enough sample you can prove that Romney wins the election.  Your sample is within standard deviation.

There is a 0.014% probability our sample was pulled from a population with a 50|50 distribution.

Our sample was +3.6 standard deviations from the mean of a distribution with a 50:50 probability.

I was serious about this. Flipping a coin is not 50|50. It's an easy proof. No tricks.

So, you were close to what we found. Please send me the link where you read the answer.

If you read my original thoughts, I reported the wrong outcome.  I said that the head side was light, so I should have concluded that the tail side should fall to the table, thus being a heads up.

However,  since I did report later that I concluded that it should be 55% tails up, I will stick with that.
