What is the new ignore button for?

What is the new ignore button for?  One example I just saw was at http://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php/topic,21941.0/topicseen.html under each posters name in that thread.

When do you use the ignore button?  I am a little bit confused about it.   ::)

I just looked at other threads and it seems to be there too.

It is soooo cool, if you click a members name, you can see how many people are ignoring them. :-D  Maybe I will ignore myself.... ;D

Gene,

I didn't know if you click a members name that you could see how many members are ignoring them.  Lol about the part of ignoring yourself.   :-D
