How are the Kitchenaid mixers for making dough?

Right now Im using a Cuisinart to combine ingredients and then some kneading. I dont make large amounts of dough and I see Kitchenaids on sale. I would use it for other things as well, so it wouldnt just be for dough. Please let me know your experience and if its worth getting. Thanks!

I do like my Kitchen Aid Professional HD, because it is versatile in making more things other than pizza doughs. I purchased mine on eBay for a decent price with three attachments.

Thanks for your insight Norma. I have been reading that the Bosch Compact is very good and some like it better than Kitchenaid. Do you have any experience with a Bosch?

A number of us (including me) use the Bosch Compact for smaller batches of dough (I generally only make enough for 2 16" pizzas). I think it is a great machine.

the Bosch Universal is a great Mixer many threads on that I owned 1 before the fork mixer make a beautiful dough!

I have a 20+ year old Kitchenaid. It's OK for dough, but I would not buy a new one. Too many stories about them literally falling apart.

I have also read about Bosch mixers.  I have seen Steve’s Bosch in action and it works very well.  I don’t have any experiences with a Bosch myself though.

I dont plan on making any more than this (for now) too.
If I was to make a lot of dough, I would look into getting a Mancuso from John.  :D

I own a Kitchen Aid HD (325 W) for about the last 12 years. No complains so far.
