Bob,I am not a pepper expert, but think Serrano peppers do look like the photo that is on the tag. The Serrano peppers I grew before are just thinner and hotter than Jalapeno peppers. Norma
I've only had thinner one's that are called "Sport" peppers in Chicago and they come on an Italian beef sandwich. They are pickled in a jar and can be pretty hot...love 'em!
Sport peppers may be the same species as serrano (as are jalapenos, bell peppers, and dozens of others), but I'm pretty sure they are a different variety. What makes you think they are the same?
Also; on the La Preferida brand label, I believe their ingredient list shows "Serrano peppers".
