Can you identify this leaf found in Calabrian chilies?

I am not a pepper expert, but think Serrano peppers do look like the photo that is on the tag.  The Serrano peppers I grew before are just thinner and hotter than Jalapeno peppers.

You're right Norma...I just did an image search and most pics are of the fatter ones like on your tag. I've only had thinner one's that are called "Sport" peppers in Chicago and they come on an Italian beef sandwich. They are pickled in a jar and can be pretty hot...love 'em!     They sound like the one's you grew before.

Sport peppers may be the same species as serrano (as are jalapenos, bell peppers, and dozens of others), but I'm pretty sure they are a different variety. What makes you think they are the same?

Anyway, this guy used to say the sport pepper was a serrano(that's where I got that from)...but he is now calling them "Melrose peppers" http://www.amazingribs.com/recipes/beef/italian_beef.html
