actually, I would rather brown the anchovies in a bit of butter and chunk up a bit and then fold into the sauce for a much tamer/nuttier taste with the little fishy fishies

I use that anchovie paste in a tube for a lot of dishes...jus not pizza....

Not a big fan of anchovies on pizza. I do like an anchovie paste to be used in caesar salad dressing. Same with Olives, I don't like olives, but I really like an olive paste on sandwiches.

I like anchovies, but not with tomato sauce. I prefer a pizza with just anchovies, oil and some parsley flakes. This pie is small because my wife won't even taste. No way for her.

Here's another one; here I used the remainder of the anchovies from last week, and cut them into smaller pieces. Also added my first try at a garlic-parsley oil that went along very well.
(Also included, a gratuitous dough tossing shot...)

I had a very simple variation of an anchovies pizza called "Calabrese" in Northern Italy and it since then became one of my favourite pizze.
Anchovies are cut in thin stripes and marinated in EVOO with lots of chilli.(to each taste).
Pizza is dressed with just tomato sauce, the anchovies and olives or capers. (no mozz)
After (!) baking just sprinkle generously some fresh ground parmigiano cheese.
The Pizza is really lite and digestible and the fresh parmigiano makes a nice contrast to the spicy anchovies.

I love anchovies on pizza. I think they go well with fresh cherry/grape tomatoes, thinly sliced garlic, oregano and EVOO.
I enjoy them as a sauce component for sfincione, too.

Anchovies for me and the dog but nobody else will touch them. I do use them in a few savory dishes.

As has been said earlier, used discreetly, and not to be an overbearing flavor, I think they add a lot of depth to pizza sauces and many other dishes too!

Try rinsing them off under cold water then soaking in milk for about 1/2 hour might just change your opinion.
