WFO stand on wheels

I got started on the steel frame this am.  5' x 6'.  I used 3" heavy wall (5/16") square tube for the frame.  Got it welded up and the ends capped.  You can see the 8" casters on the left.  2 solid base, 2 steerable.  Rated for 850# each, also weather friendly and greasable.  Hopefully (yeah right) get the legs cut and welded tomorrow.

Looking good. It takes a lot of planning to design a large stand like that.
What are you going to put on it? How much weight is it going to support?

Here is a frame that I just made for 1500 lateral size oven. As you can see it is about to ship to my client.
I used 2" square tubes with .012 walls and wheels caster that can support each 1,200 lb but the total weight won't be more than 2,500 lb.

Yes, it is for a client in NH who is installing the oven in a tap room. Then later on he is going to mount the oven on a trailer and possibly back and forth. So the top part of the frame with the "tub" that will be supporting the oven is removable from  the rest of the stand with wheels. It is why you can see sleeves with bolts so the oven can be switched to another stand without having to disassemble it.
Also the oven has that special bracing ring that Four Grand Mere makes, so the oven will stay securely into place.
I will share the pictures of the assembly.

I like the 8" casters, wish I could have found something that size.  My oven rolls pretty well once it's moving, I can move it alone, but getting it going can be a beast, especially if I have to turn the wheels.  A 2x4 used as a lever works good for that.

Nice clean,organized shop there Mr. Gene....is that a 'lil baby Miller I spy there. Welds look good, ought to be a nice stand man....

That's what I thought you were going to use the stand for, but couldn't be sure anymore. Very nice work on the oven and the stand.

Looks great man...like how you welded a square plate on bottom of legs and bolted casters to that plate, it's a pro install. Slap some 1/2in. angle down low from leg to leg to tie in the support of the structure an then tack in some roll slotted material on the angle iron tads to provide your wood storage shelf....buy some thick slotted and maybe you can get away without X bracing under it,no?

I will probably do a smalll square tube around the base of the legs instead of angle iron.  Angle is fine in extension, not so good in compression.  I don't plan to x-brace anything, unless I change my mind.

You are more skilled than I in this aspect Gene...I'm sure the stronger boxed tube will be best and still provide a platform to attach your bottom shelf.

I believe i'm done, just prime it and paint it black.  Guy's in the shop talked me into the gussets on the legs rather than putting something around the bottom.  I made a small wood rack on the side, underneath the table.
