Hello from Al Dente!!
« on: January 11, 2013, 11:31:57 PM »
Hello! My name is Al and I live in Brooklyn NY. I have been occasionally cooking homemade pizza's for a few months now, but only recently started to get the hang of it! I use a regular kitchen oven, a GE profile, heated up to 550 degrees, and cook 'em on a round, mesh tray. I joined the forum to learn, and to try new techniques and tricks and share what little it is I do know!! Thanks!!

Welcome to the forum, Al. Great nickname :)

What neighborhood in Brooklyn are you from?  I noticed that you mentioned 'Grandma' in your profile.  Have you ever had a Grandma at Lo Duca in Flatbush?

Hey Scott, thanks! I'm from Gerritsen Beach. I have never had a Grandma from Lo Duca. I'll have to give them a try when I'm downtown! I love the Grandma pizza from Knapp Street Pizza. Really good. Best I ever had, if you like alot of Garlic anyway...Thanks again.

Knapp Street? I'll have to check them out when I'm in the area.  Lo Duca is heavy on the garlic as well and it also has a healthy dose of Romano. It's one of the most flavorful slices I've ever had. It's actually so in your face that, unlike more traditional slices, I probably couldn't eat it every day. But once in a while... it's amazing.
