Smoked olive oil

Just read in today's Press Democrat about a couple producing and selling smoke infused olive oil.
I have not tried it and it is a bit expensive, but avail online at a cheap shipping rate. The article in the paper says many noteworthy chefs are raving about it.

I have a bottle of the Sonoma. It's very good, but as you noted, stupidly expensive. If you really need some smoked olive oil, this is a good brand. If not, it's not worth the money IMO.

I have smoked a lot of things but haven't tried olive oil.  I did do some tomato juice for bloody mary's once and it picked up the smoke.  I'll have to try some next time I do cheese

That's what I was going to suggest. I've smoked mayo, and butter so a mild olive oil should work nicely.
