Countertop oven - Obh nordica pizza pronto

Not seen this oven in this forum, but some ovens with similar design. This is good small oven and very fast to heat, it heats up +300c in 10 minutes.
The problem is that you have to play with it because it will cut the power off from the top boiler. I would like to modify this oven so that i could bake with it
when the boiler would be on all the time.

If i remember right the maximum temp is around 750f and that is with a thermostat which is cutting the power off. If this could be modified the temps
can be easily +800f. It works on 220-240v and has 1200w, there is setup 1-3. Right now with the issues in this oven i can bake better pies in my normal oven.


If you have experience modding this oven or knowledge for it feel free to post some advice

Inside the thermostat knob there is a screw (with flat head) you can turn to adjust it, you want to hear a "click" sound the nearset to 0.

Do you know how much boost this mod will give ? Is the boiler on all the time when you adjust it to a click ?

I would think that this isnt so effective mod, but not tested it.

It's a bit better, but you'll need more mods. . .

No it's not always on but you'll have plenty of time to cook before it went down, you can also do this: Modifying a Deni 2100

Thanks for the tips! I just made the thermostat mod + added a baking foil behind the boiler. Can someone confirm that the thermostat mod is done right ?
How much past 3 should i crank it ? I will have the ir meter later this week so then i can do some testing with it.

This oven goes over 580f with setting number 2 and whit mod you can crank it up over 3.

I heated oven to about 2.5 and then put the pie in and cranked +3. I noticed that 2.5 is to low, next time i will heat it to 3 and then pie in to the oven and crank it up +3. Is this the best way to go ?

the thermostat is just an ON/OFF switch !

Put a flattened aluminum pie pan on the stone, put the knob to 3+ and preheat 15min, remove the aluminum from the stone and start cooking.


But try to buy an infrared thermometer, it is an usefull tool to have !

Thanks! So the oven is ON all the time after setting 3, i pass it and the boiler doesnt cut off. I ordered ir meter and i will have it maybe tomorrow.
How fast can you bake a 200gr dough with this setup ?

It goes past 800 easily, but i guess its not good to go to high either.

I noticed that the sides of the stone are cooler than mid section ? I guess you take the reading from the middle of the stone.

Just baked one pie and it was pretty good, but it part of the bottom (i ate the whole pie anyway).

Topheat is the biggest problem, theres not enough of it.

360-380c worked nicely i just tested today, but it takes allmost five minutes to bake a pie. Bottom is ready less than that, but top doesn't
get enough color.

Sub, what do you think if i took out the bottom heater and put it on the top ? This way there could be two heaters on top, would it warm up the bottom enough ? This way it would be better, I'm just not sure will it heat enough of the stone from top. I think the stone takes enough heat for a 60-90s bake time so it would not be a problem, what do you think ?

I was thinking also to make some kind of insulation for the oven or is this mod a worthwhile ? Is there some kind fabric for insulation, it sure would be
easy to add and cut.
